This page is intended to provide a general background about the online services being offered by the Court Services Agency.
The public and the legal professionals (Lawyers, Legal Procurators and Notaries) have the facility to search for:
• Civil Cases – where one can search for any civil case.
• Judgements – where one can browse and download the decisions of the Maltese and Gozo Courts.
• Judicial Sales – where one can access information regarding judicial sales that are going to take place.
• Hall Usage – where one can look up for a specific court sitting by date and find its particular courtroom.
• Insolvency Register – where one can retrieve information regarding insolvency proceedings of companies and bankruptcy proceedings of individuals from 1st January 2014 to date.
• Court Statistics – where one can obtain court data on pending and terminated cases of previous years.
The public and the legal professionals have the facility to pay online:
• Court Fines – through which fines issued by the Court can be paid.
• Court Registry Fees – through which one can pay online the Registry Fees which are due to the Registrar after a court case is decided.
The public and the legal professionals have the facility to receive:
• Mobile notifications – through which one can register to receive SMS about the date of the next court sitting as well as adjournment of a sitting.
The public and the legal professionals can link to other:
• Online Decisions Portal – offers a link to the judgements given by the Financial Services Tribunal, Industrial Tribunal, Malta Arbitration Centre as well as the Consumer Tribunal.
The public and the legal professionals can request:
• Secret Wills – through which one request a testamentary search for the issuance of a certificate about a secret will of a deceased person.
• Archive of Acts – where one can request a scanned and/or a hard copy of different type of acts.
The public and the legal professionals can file online applications through:
• Submission of Acts – where one can file and pay Civil or Criminal application(s). There are applications which can only be filed by the legal professionals due to the legal formalities and requirements established by the Law while other applications can be filed both by the legal professionals and the public in general. Log in with E-ID credentials is required for filing online applications.
Additional services when log with e-ID credentials:
• My Civil Cases – gives access to all the civil cases in which a person is a party.
• My Acts – gives access to all the judicial acts filed in the name of that person.
• Interdictions – a register with the list of persons recognised as interdicted, incapacitated and certified mentally unstable following a Court order.
• Warrants – gives access to warrants filed in the name of a particular person or entity.
• Civil Forms – which are forms established by Chapter 12 of the Laws of Malta and are frequently used by the legal profession to generate applications in the Civil Court.
In addition to all these services, the legal professionals can be provided with further access through the Court’s Management System on the Civil Cases, Acts and Warrant. Requests for such access are made by sending an email to [email protected]. Necessary verifications are conducted by the Civil Courts Directorate with regards to their personal details and the warrant certificate. Moreover, the registered legal professionals with the Civil Directorate can be linked to their civil cases in order to receive email notifications with interlocutory decrees as well as transcripts of viva-voce evidence.
